UNTITLED ARTISTS GROUP PRESENTS SPRING SHOW 2008: "ACTIVE INGREDIENT"
 

Nashville, TN

Nashville's UNTITLED Artists' Group welcomes you to be part of Untitled history and discover your hidden talents with life drawing at its 2008 Spring show "ACTIVE INGREDIENT", Friday, March 14th from 6 to 10 pm.  This free, one-night-only art event will be held at Limelight Nashville, 201 Woodland Street Nashville, TN 37213.  Over 80 innovative and emerging Nashville visual artists will give you their recommended dosage of potent paintings, pharmacodynamic photography, medicinal mixed-media, and more.  "ACTIVE INGREDIENT" is the latest in a series of successful quarterly exhibitions that support artistic innovation and offer alternative visual arts in non-traditional spaces.

What is the Untitled "Active Ingredient"?
There is no doubt that Untitled has many ingredients that go into its recipe for holding unique, one-night-only art exhibits.  Perhaps it’s the art, the artists themselves, the hard work by many volunteers, the friendships, the history, a place to support local artists, or maybe it’s just a good time.  Come to the first show of 2008, "ACTIVE INGREDIENT", and experience Untitled firsthand to uncover what key ingredient works for you.  See old friends, make new ones, and share your story during the filming of the Untitled Documentary.

The upcoming Untitled Documentary is the latest exciting Untitled project and will feature the upcoming Spring show of 2008.  Untitled members and supporters are actively planning and filming this project which will be submitted to local and national public broadcasting stations.  The documentary will be a behind-the-scenes look into what makes an Untitled show happen, from the lead up to the show, the show, the clean up and all of the things that happen to bring up the lights.  Filming crews will be present throughout the show planning and installation process and during the event itself.  Don't miss your chance to be a part of Untitled history!

"ACTIVE INGREDIENT" will take place Friday, March 14th from 6 to 10 p.m. at Limelight Nashville, 201 Woodland Street Nashville, TN 37213.  Located across from L.P. Field (Nashville Stadium and Home of the Tennessee Titans), Limelight Nashville is a spacious, upscale concert and event space dedicated to supporting everything Nashville, while continuing to bring great live music to Music City via its state of the art sound equipment and stylish atmosphere.  As a new venue under new management, Limelight Nashville holds a promising future to spotlight local talent and events.  Admission is free, and the public is invited to hang out, meet and mingle with the artists, all while viewing art and partaking in a life drawing session known as the "Waiting Room".

The "Waiting Room" will be a special feature of the "ACTIVE INGREDIENT" show, presented by Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Nashville.  Dr. Sketchy's invites you to relax in the "Waiting Room" and participate in an interactive life drawing session, featuring three local beauties: Miss Lolly Pop, Assistant Assassin Ashley, and Monique Honeybush.  No appointment necessary: drop in and pick up some sketch pads and pencils, provided by Dr. Sketchy's, to draw these dames on the spot as they play doctor, nurse and patient.  All attendees are encouraged to participate in this medical themed life drawing experience and may enter into contests to win prizes such as free passes to upcoming "Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School" and "Music City Burlesque" shows.

Patrons may purchase artwork by cash, check or credit card and may take their pieces home with them at 10pm that evening.

UNTITLED has introduced new artists to the community since 1991, is comprised of several hundred artists, and has left an indelible stamp on the burgeoning Nashville art scene.  UNTITLED members include staff and exhibiting artists from Zeitgeist, Dangenart, Plowhaus, Twist Gallery, and (fov) gallery.  UNTITLED members also include art faculty, students, and graduates from Watkins College of Art and Design, Belmont University, Vanderbilt University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Lipscomb University, TSU, Fisk University and MTSU.

Untitled is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting artists, reaching new art audiences, and offering alternative visual arts experiences in the Nashville community.  The group's meetings and shows provide opportunities for artists to connect, collaborate and learn from each other.
